Whe concentrated nitric acid is dropped over heated sawdust, sawdust catches fire spontaneously, i.e., bursts into flame..

Hope this will help you.. Please mark as brainliest.

shrutiravichandran02: but why does it catch flames??
akki2429p0bm7a: This is due to oxidation
shrutiravichandran02: hmm... ok thanks
akki2429p0bm7a: Saw dust contains carbon which is oxidised to carbon dioxide by nitric acid..
akki2429p0bm7a: You are welcome..:)
