Farmer's movement took place in America between 1867 and 1896. Their major demands were to educate farmers, as a result of which several rural libraries, farmers institutes, lyceums and reading courses were introduced for farmers. A rural free mail delivery was also inaugurated in 1896. It also featured an improved agricultural press and a number of agricultural exhibits. All in all, the movement led to reduction in rural isolation and improved opportunities for farmers.
