⭕ The intermixing of two or more atomic orbitals with different orientations to produce equal number of hybrid orbitals of same orientation is known as hybridisation and the atomic orbitals thus produced are known as hybrid orbitals.✔️✔️

⭕ Only the central atom of the molecule undergores hybridisation.

⭕ The hybrid orbitals are oriented in such a way that they always overlapp axially with atomic orbitals of other molecules and thus produce sigma bonds only.

⭕ Pi bonds are produced by the lateral overlapping of un hybridized atomic orbitals of central atom.

⭕ Fixed orientations of the hybrid orbitals give directional nature to bond and hence definite shapes to molecules.

⭕ Bond angle = The angular distance between two atoms separately bonded with central atom is called bond angle.❤️
