Mission Kakatiya works on it only. Mission Kakatiya is a program inaugurated by the Cheif Minister of Telangana Shri Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on 12 March 2015. It was introduced by Telangana government to remove the dirt and silt and clear the rivers.
It aims at fulfilling the water needs of every person. Its objective is to revamp the chain of thousands of historic tanks in Telangana. Though it is a very laudable Project yet it is a very cost intensive scheme. It is a tribute to Kakatiya rulers who developed systematic irrigation system well.
The governement aims at identifying more than 45,000 minor tanks and lakes which were planned to restore by spending probably 20,000 crores in next 5 years.
