negative liberty is the absence of obstacles,barries or constraints one has negative liberty to the extent that actions are available to one in this negative.sense while positive liberty is the possibility of acting or the fact of acting in such a way to take control of ones life and realize ones fundamental purposes

The negative aspects of liberty mean absolute freedom of the individual. Absence of all restraints is the meaning of negative liberty.
Real liberty has a positive connotation. It doesn't mean the absence of restrictions but rational restrictions. Supporters of positive liberty admit of rational restrictions.
