Concern for the generation- Role of trees.

Trees give us a perception of time longer than our individual lifetimes. Planting a tree is planting a benefit for future generations. It has always been my ambition to own land with a mature tree on it. I am now approaching 70 and, with my wife, own a small woodland, which we open up to schools and community groups.

We are planting new woodland so that long after I have gone, they will enhance the landscape in our countryside. I share this dream with young people in the hope that I can inspire them to love trees.
