the end is basically mr oliver getting scared by the boy who was sitting on the rock who was having soundless weeps, upon getting scared mr oliver runs blindly opposite direction of the boy in scrambled path towards the direction of light. and when mr oliver reaches the light he meet a watchman that asks a couple of question and mr oliver is gasping for breath because he was tired of running when he saw the boy. sooo oliver was in for a suprise when he looked at the watchman face he saw the same feature which he saw in the boy but whit no eyebrows and then the wind blows the lantern out.
