Answer:

To calculate the concentration of $H^+ and OH^-$ ( acids and bases ) we use the pH scale. There are 14 divisions on the pH , 7 is at middle. If the sample will be lesser than 7 , the sample will be acidic and if the sample will be greater than 7 then it is basic.

As the acidicity increases the value on pH scale decreases.
