  • Plastic waste enters the water like rivers, seas and even the sea and pollutes our water very much.
  • This water is then supplied to our areas.

Conclusion:

  • Plastic contamination has many negative effects.
  • They are not limited to one part of the ecosystem.
  • Different parts of the environment are affected and this results in the loss of biodiversity.

Prevention of plastic contamination:

  • We should use alternatives such as cloth bags and paper bags instead of plastic.
  • If we buy plastic, we have to use it again.
  • We should avoid drinking bottled water which has a significant impact on plastic contamination.
  • The government must ban the use of plastic.
  • All of this can prevent plastic contamination to a large extent.

Explanation:

Reason for using plastic

The main reason for the increasing demand for plastic is that it is very cheaper than other alternative substances and easily available in different forms which can easily mold. Owing to its versatile and cheap availability in the market it is used by people of all classes. We go to the market without carrying bags and keep our things of solid and liquid material in them. It is used across the globe because of very appropriate for use in our daily routine work whether at home, in industries, or in any field, We can fold anything and keep it in plastic.

We go shopping in the market and demand plastic bags. We buy plastic bottles, cold drinks, and other things made of plastic and use them without realizing their harm. On the other side, plastic has several cons which we should significantly understand and need to control using it to great extent as possible.

Plastic waste is a dangerous material

Plastic is the only substance that can’t be destroyed or burnt. It is neither dissolved in water nor decomposes into the earth. It remains on the surface of the earth for endless because it is not destructible material. Once it creates it cannot be destroyed. Only with the process of recycling we can use it again thereby we can mitigate the adverse effect.

If we bum it emits dangerous styrene gas and highly toxic chemicals. Plastic is made of Styrene and PVC. It pollutes the entire environment. This toxic gas is absorbed by the skin and lungs of humans which causes various diseases like Asthma, cancer, and other several diseases.

Bad effects of plastic pollution

A million tonnes of plastic are dumped into water bodies like rivers, lakes, ponds, and oceans every year. Plastic wrappers, plastic bottles, and polythene bags that are thrown by human beings are a huge mistake for which the whole earth is going to pay for it. It contaminates the whole of nature which refers to plastic pollution. Owing to its non- dissolved property it remains to settle on the surface of water or afloat on it. These cause very harmful to human beings, animals, birds, and aquatic life.

Apart from it remains on the water surface for an endless time which is responsible for hampering the purity of water. The areas surrounding plastics which dumped in to the water body creates several diseases including diseases and insects which are causing deadly illness. Also. these harmful insects cause several diseases in human beings.

It becomes very difficult for the breathing of aquatic animals. Aquatic animals like small fishes and Dolphins swallow this plastic and get stuck in their throat. It becomes responsible for their death.

Moreover, millions of tonnes of plastic are dumped on land as well. The birds, animals like dogs, cows, and other domestic animals reach there for eating food.

How to mitigate plastic pollution

Plastic pollution not only contaminates the environment rather it is responsible for the death of birds, wildlife, and aquatic animals. This plastic pollution is spreading from human beings who use it inconvenient ways. Curbing the usage of plastic is a big challenge that humans face. However, there are some steps through which the use of plastic can be mitigated and plastic pollution can be minimized to great extent.

• Do Use of cloth bag or paper bag instead of plastic. While going to market take a carry bag of yours.

• Don't throw plastic "Tappers, plastic bottles everywhere. Put it in a dustbin nearby.

• Government should focus much on the recycling process and check its usage.

• Government should take initiation to facilitate the curbing of plastic dumping and plastic pollution.

• As a citizen, we all should use plastic as minimum as possible.

Conclusion of plastic pollution

We have seen how plastic pollution is increasing day by day. Due to its non-biodegradable nature use of it are responsible for various damage to the environment. In today's modem life use of it has become fashion irrespective of understanding its harmful effect.

If each person gets an understanding of his responsibility to curb plastic pollution then only we can save our environment from pollution. Today most people use drinking water, tyres, and plastic "Tappers and throw them which are major parts of pollution. We must avoid it and reuse it. To minimize the damage to the environment we should be careful in our practices and use of plastic.
