Explanation:

Hi✌️✌️

✍...

Strengthening Movement failed to strengthen China. Its leader over-emphasized the importance of learning western technology and military skills. They failed to see that western countries were also superior in the political and social systems. In addition, they faced strong opposition from the conservative officials and serious corruption within the Qing government. Therefore, the movement ended in the failure when China was defeated by Japan in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-95. Nevertheless, it marked the first attempt of China to reform herself and paved the way for later modernization efforts.
