Answer:

Social evils are issues that directly or indirectly affect members of a society and are regarded as a source of contention or a problem in terms of moral values. Common social ills include caste, poverty, the dowry system, gender inequality, illiteracy, and so on.

Explanation:

The social evils and superstitions that have dominated society for centuries have made social reforms necessary for the development of society and the masses. The newly educated revolted against rigid social conventions and outdated customs in the 1st century. They couldn't stand irrational and dehumanising social practises any longer. Furthermore, backward features of Indian society, such as the caste system or gender inequality, had religious sanction in the past. As a result, religious practises had to be changed. Female foeticide, female infanticide, drug abuse, prostitution, child labour, and child abuse are among the other issues. The first and most important step should be education. The government has also taken positive steps, such as making primary education free and mandatory for children aged 6 to 14, and prohibiting child labour. A lot needs to be done to rid our society of the remnants of several social evils. Citizens must strictly adhere to the rules outlined in the Constitution and refrain from engaging in illegal activities such as bride burning, dowry, racism, gender discrimination, and so on.
