It gives us the opportunity to look at our past and see where we started and how far we have come in things such as technology and medicine. It also gives us the opportunity to learn from what the ancients have done. We can look at their advancements and look at their mistakes and fix them to make them better for now. Without the contributions of the ancient civilizations we would not have the technology we have today and we would not be as advanced in many things, such as the sciences, medicine and government systems. Ancient civilizations have given us the basis for everything we have today and without them we would not be where we are now.
