The Union executive consists of all the government people at the central level.   Union executive consists of president, vice-president, council of ministers and prime minister.  Prime Minister holds all the powers and guides the president in taking important decisions on national issues.   In the absence of the president, vice president takes all decisions on his behalf.

The Government of India is considered to be a Parliamentary Democracy, in which the government is divided between the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judiciary organs.

The Executive branch is responsible for the implementation of regulations and plans enacted by the legislature. primarily it looks after the regular management of government operations. Hence, the Executive organ of the country is made up of Council of Ministers, elected by the parliament, involving the President (as the head of the state) and the Prime Minister (as the head of the Country). The executive power is given to the President by the "Article 53(1)" of the Indian Constitution, through which he can entertain these powers either directly or through his subordinated officers.
