Chandrayaan was mainly launched in both phases to design and develop space craft's in the moon by using an Indian made vehicle. Another reason was to carry out a scientific experiment by use of the instruments on the spacecraft to obtain data that will be used in the development of the three-dimensional atlas that has high altitude definition. The data was also to be used in mapping the lunar surface, specifically some products such as silicon, magnesium uranium, and many more. Finally, the data was to be used in increasing the scientific skills.
