Explanation:Nameri National Park was established in 1978. Nameri National Park is located on the Sonitpur District of Assam.
On 17 October 1978, it was announced as a reserve forest.
On 18 September 1985, it was set up as Nameri Sanctuary.
It was finally declared as National Park on 15 November 1998, at the same time an addition of 75 sq. km. the area took place. It is a place of flora and fauna. Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the northern border of Nameri National Park.
Nameri National Park has an area of about 200 sq. km. With Pakhui National Park it constitutes an area of about 1000 sq. km. The month between November To May is one of the best times to visit Nameri National Park. It is considered as TIGER RESERVE in 1999-2000. After Manas National Park, it is considered as the 2nd Tiger Reserve of Assam.
