During the early medieval period, there was a number of rulers who built various palaces, forts, and tombs. Apart from these, there were other structures which were the temples for the gods and goddess, mosques, tanks, well and bazaars for trading the goods.
The Hindu kings built the temples which provided the places of worship for the people. Every time any ruler would come to power they would build a structure which would emphasize on them being the rulers. They built the temples and mosques which showed their devotion towards their gods.
