In India many policies and projects have been taken by government for

protection and conservation of wildlife in nature. After the global awareness

about environment and ecology, major initiatives in legislative process were

taken for creation as well as management of protected areas. Even the stringent

provisions for protection of forests including wildlife some how were more

preservationists in nature which generated protest among the adivasi and forest

dwellers in the society. So many steps were taken by government in its part but

the public participation in conservation program is not very successful in India.

During 1970s some important conservation and ecological movements were

voluntarily organised by marginal people to academic associations, in spite of

those the mass participation in conservation system by all stages of public has

not been seen in India. Though many programs, schemes were introduced by

Ministry of Environment and Forests but government's those conservation

programs failed to fulfill in generating awareness about protection of wildlife

for ecological purposes.

The tragedy of civilisation is the degradation of ecology and destruction

of wildlife population by indiscriminately killing. Man has taken the role of

plunderer of nature for his uncontrolled thrust for money. Every source from

which man has developed his power on earth has been heavily used to diminish

the prospects of his successors and those can not be generated again. Then we

need to draw some suggestions for better control of environmental problems

and to protect wildlife in our surroundings for the existence of the life in the

earth. Then restriction on use is the only remedy for our better future to save

rest of wildlife which is left in the nature.
