the force of attraction which holds the two atoms or ions together in molecule is called a chemical bond
Types of chemical bonds are ::
1) Ionic 2) Covalent. 3) Metallic 4) Molecular nature.
1 )Ionic bond :: the bond formed by complete transfer of one or more electrons from an eletropositive atom leading to the formation of ions, which are held together by electrostatic attraction is called an ionic bond.
2) Covalent bond :: the attractive force which exists due to the mutual sharing of electron between the two atoms of similar electronegativity or having small difference in their electronegativity is called a Covalent bond. It is represented by a dash (-) between the two bonding atoms.
