The civil Code of 1804 known as Napoleon code did away all the privileges based on birth, establish equality before the law and secured right to property.


This code was exported to all the regions which were under the French control.

In dutch republic, in Switzerland and in many
other places Napoleon simplified administrative laws.


It abolished the federal system and freed the peasants from self drum and other manorial dues.


Imperial custom duties were abolished and a new system of weights and balances were adopted.
