It is definitely possible to reduce the use of electricity by using efficient electronic appliances and also by taking small steps towards conservation of electricity.
The advanced way is to purchase energy-efficient appliances and electronics with an advanced power strip to reduce the vampire loads i.e. the electricity that is wasted when the electronics are not in use.

Using energy efficient appliances is one of the most beneficial ways by which we can reduce the use of electricity. Its not about having the right product but how to use that product is equally important.
1. Computers consume a large amount of energy. That's why they should be turned off while not in use and charger should be disconnected once the device is completely charged.
2. Regular lights and bulbs should be replaced by LED lights as they use 70% less electricity as compared to other incandescent bulbs. They are more durable and long lasting as they have no mercury inside them.
3. Some devices use stand by power even when not in use. For example, television, microwaves, chargers etc. They should be completely unplugged from the socket when not in use as some of the chargers continue to pull some amount of electricity even if they are not charging.
