Answer:

Ethanol convert into ehtyl alcohol in two steps. 1,Firstly Dehydration of Ethanol occur in the present of dehydrating agent which is conc H2SO4 , it removes the water molecule from ethanol and convert it into Ethene.: Ethanol reacts with PCl3 to give ethyl Chloride. Step2: Ethyl Chloride reacts with KCN to give Propane nitrile. Step3: Propane nitrile reacts with NaNO2 in the presence of HCl and LiAl4 to give 1-Chloropropane.Normally, to convert alcohols to alkyl chlorides, one uses SOCl2 (thionyl chloride). This reagent works by forming an inorganic ester R-O-SO-Cl, and the -O-SO-Cl group is a good leaving group (it breaks down on leaving to SO2 + Cl-). Ethyl chloride is a gas, so be prepared for that / don't lose your product
