The conditions required for breeding of animals for experimentation are as follows:

a) There must be adequate space for each animal to live and their living space must be clean and hygienic.  

b) Their living space must be well aerated with proper system for ventilation, so that the animals do not suffocate.  

c) The animals must be given proper food and clean drinking water.

d) Sick and diseased animals must be separated from fit animals and these diseased animals must be kept in isolation, if needed.
