The process of Resource Planning involves:

  • Identification & Inventory of Resources -

Resources across all regions of the country should be identified. This involves surveying, mapping, qualitative & quantitative estimation and measurement of resources.

  • Planning for Resource Development -

Resources should be developed & planned using appropriate skill, technology & institutional set-up.

  • Matching the Resource Development Plans with overall National Development plans.
  • India's 5 year plans -

India followed the policy of Resource Planning from the very first 5 year plan, rightly after Independence.

  • Availability of Resources alone is not enough.
  • The process of Development, necessary technology and Institutional set-up are also required.
