No it should not! Wearing them on highways is fine but not on internal and city roads. The government should instead focus onenforcing traffic lawsand make sure motorists obey the traffic sign boards like 'No Entry' or ?No Parking'. Laws related to tinted glasses, unclear and fancy number plates, over speeding and pollution levels should be stringently enforced on all roads. It is far better for law makers to make controversial statements then to come out with laws that inconvenience the public.

I feel it is ridiculous to make it mandatory for helmets to be worn on all roads by two-wheeler riders as it is very inconvenient to wear helmets all the time. If this is the case, we will have to wear a helmet every time we cross the road to go to the grocery store. They say a law need not be logical, but in this case it is not even practical. It is a preventive measure and it should not be forced upon someone. The option of wearing it on other roads (besides highways) should be left to the rider.

Wearing helmetsis necessary for two-wheeler riders and pillion riders as it gives them some amount of safety during accidents. It keeps the head safe from injuries when accidents take place. So, it is absolutely necessary for riders and pillion riders to compulsorily wear helmets on all roads across the state and country.

Considering the traffic speeds and type of roads, wearing of helmets must be made compulsory for riders and pillion riders on all roads in the state to prevent head injuries, which are a very common cause of deaths inaccidents. If a small country like Sri Lanka, which was war-torn until recently, can observe rules where small children are made to wear helmets when picked up from schools, why can't we do that in our state? Dear members of the public, helmets should not be looked down upon as a burden, but a small measure to ensure safety of the rider and pillion rider.

About 1 lakh 10 thousand people are being stunned during the road accident every year, while six times (about six lakhs) people are seriously injured. The biggest misfortune is that there are 70 per cent of those people who do not wear helmets and cause car accident to cause seat belts. A severe injury of 90 per cent head can be stopped wearing helmets. The head of most crashes in the AIIMS trauma center has serious injuries and this is due to not wearing helmets.

There are large number of women who are victims of head injuries. While wearing helmets for men on motorcycles in Delhi is essential, there is no such law for women, women feel free to sit on a motorcycle. After the accident, women sitting behind are victims of head injury. Many women fall in the mouth of death and those who survive have lived in a coma for a long time. If women, my wife, girlfriend, mother, sister become aware, they can save themselves from injury, men can also refuse to drive away the rash. Women can refuse men to violate the traffic rules and prevent them from wearing out helmets in every condition or putting a car belt.

In this country, 5 lakh people are currently being victims of road accidents every year, out of which one lakh 10 thousand people are killed and 18 lakhs are seriously injured.
 
An accident is decreasing every two minutes on the streets of India and one person is killed every 8 minutes. The victims of Road Accident have the highest number of youth who do not wear helmets and do not wear a car belt.

Even in the metros like Delhi, young people wear helmets to avoid the traffic police, while they need to think that wearing helmets is essential to save their life.
