The lives of lords, ladies, and warriors during the times Roman Empire:

  • The Roman Empire was established in 31 BC when Augustus Caesar crowned himself the first Roman emperor, and it was destroyed in 1453 CE with the fall of Constantinople. An empire is a form of government in which an emperor or empress rules over a group of people.
  • Lords and ladies belonged to the aristocracy, the highest social class in medieval society, like monarchs. Most of them were manor dwellers. While some lords had only one manor, others owned multiple. Those who owned multiple manors typically spent a few months in one before moving with their families to a different one.
  • Attacks on their castle: The weakest points of the castle were located by mediaeval lords, knights, and their siege engineers, who then designed their siege strategy accordingly. The Trebuchet, Ballista, Catapult, Mangonel, Battering Ram, and Siege Towers were the siege engines used in medieval times to attack castles.
  • A hunting expedition: They used the most efficient and straightforward techniques, such as traps and other kinds of traps, to hunt mostly hares, wild boars, and birds. The narrative of Pliny the Younger's hunt is a fantastic illustration of such a strategy.
  • An entertainment occasion: Ancient Rome had two main categories of games: ludi, or games, which included theatrical plays, dances, and chariot races, and munera, or spectacles, which included gladiator battles, wild animal presentations, and other strange demonstrations.
  • Daily life in a castle: The majority of the rooms in the castle would always be closed up while the lord and lady and their staff, who could range in number from 30 to 150, would move from castle to castle with their beds, linen, tapestries, crockery, candelabra, and chests.
