Following were the findings from the survey:
- The most prominent factor came out to be the availability of plastic. LDP i.e. Low-Density Polythene (which is the type of plastic used in cheap toys, and polybags) is being used the most. This kind of plastic was far more available because of its negligible cost.
- Only for certain utensils like buckets or bathtubs or dustbins which are bought for a long period of time, the durability factor is taken into consideration and thus HDP or High-Density Polythene made products are preferred.
- The maintenance factor was again only considered for HDP products but it was the last of people's concerns as these products are generally easy to maintain.
