In the light of the ongoing water shortage in the city, our organization conducted a survey on the water harvesting methods being implemented in our sector. Volunteers went from door to door to get authentic information from the residents of the area. We discovered that out of the 26 households covered only a handful were aware of such methods. A majority of them had not even heard about water harvesting. The only building where water harvesting mechanisms were found in place is the Government College for Girls, which is at an arm’s length from the surveyed locality.

 

The aim of our survey is to seek your help in increasing awareness of the concept of water harvesting. People need to understand it in terms of increased ease of living. We intend to create eye catching pamphlets and even stage street plays pertaining to the same.  However, it would be challenging for our team to reach out to a multitude without cooperation from the governing bodies.  Any kind of help, in terms of financial support, manpower and paper work would be greatly appreciated. As citizens of this beautiful city, we would like to improve the quality of life for the common man.
