Answer:

South Africa is celebrating 20 years of democracy in 2014, which coincides with the country's fifth national elections as a democratic country.

To commemorate these 20 years of democracy, it is important to reflect on some of the country's key issues and features.

The Bill of Rights, a human rights charter that protects the civil, political, and socioeconomic rights of all South Africans, is found in Chapter Two of the South African Constitution. The Bill's rights apply to all legal systems, including common law, and bind all branches of government, including the national executive, Parliament, the judiciary, provincial governments, and municipal councils. Some provisions, such as those prohibiting unfair discrimination, also apply to private individuals' actions.
