Photosynthesis is affected by light:
Actually photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their own food using the light energy or sunlight energy so when the light falling on the plant decrease the process of photosynthesis also decrease and vice versa.

Photosynthesis is also  affected by the water:
There are two main components plants used to produce food using photosynthesis and that are water and carbon dioxide . When the water goes to decrease in plants the rate of photosynthesis will automatically decrease and vice versa.

Photosynthesis is a process by which the plants take in carbon-dioxide and produce oxygen. For this process, plants essentially require light, water, and chlorophyll.

Several experiments have been conducted in schools and in research laboratories to prove this phenomenon.

The most common experiment depicting photosynthesis in a lab is the Moll’s half-leaf experiment which proves that carbon-dioxide, water, light, and chlorophyll are the most important requirements for photosynthesis to occur in plants.

The experiment requires a potted plant, a wide-mouthed bottle, caustic potash, iodine, water, and split cork.

The steps of the experiment are:

1. A potted plant is de-starched by being placed in complete darkness for 2 full days.

2. A wide-mouthed bottle is filled partly with a strong solution of potash and is fitted with a split cork in its mouth.

3. Almost half of a leaf from the de-starched plant is inserted into the bottle through the split cork.

4. Grease is applied to the upper portion of the cork and the whole apparatus is placed in light. The leaf is then tested for starch after 10 hours.

Observations: The part of the leaf that was inserted inside the bottle and in the split cork tested negative to the starch test, whereas the leaf portions that were outside the cork and the bottle tested positive for starch. This indicated that photosynthesis had occurred in this region.
