To show that Carbon dioxide is necessary for photosynthesis one activity can be done:

Take 2 plants and put each of them in a bell jar. Place some Potassium hydroxide in one bell jar and seal both the bell jars ( MAKE SURE THAT THE BELL JARS ARE AIR TIGHT ). Potassium hydroxide will absorb carbon dioxide. Place both the bell jars in sunlight for 2 hours. Pluck out leaves from both the plants and boil them in alcohol in order to remove Chlorophyll. Then put few drops of Iodine solution on both leaves. You will see that the leaf ,from the plant that had Potassium hydroxide in its bell jar, won't turn blue-black indicating that no starch is present. We can infer that no photosynthesis was performed in this bell jar due to absence of Carbon dioxide..

THUS, CARBON DIOXIDE IS A FACTOR ESSENTIAL FOR PHOTOSYNTHESIS

Photosynthesis, a biochemical process.

In this process plants synthesize the glucose under sunlight using water from soil and the CO2 from the atmosphere. Later the glucose gets converted into starch.

Light is the most important factor as the photosynthesis rate depends on it.

The presence of CO2 in the atmosphere is very important to start the reaction process with the glucose and water.
