1. Listening - By actively listening to the parties involved in the conflict, a manager can provide with an effective resolution.

2. Empathy - Managers must consider employee's emotions and recognize the root cause and background during an employee-manager dispute.

3. Self awareness - Managers must cultivate a good sense of self-awareness and recognize their own prejudices and preconceptions; otherwise, it will be difficult to rise above them and recognise the real issue.
