Question :- what is the conjugate of √3 - 5 ?

Solution :-

we know that, to find the conjugate of binomial surds, we changes the sign in between the terms, that is,

  • '+' becomes '-' .
  • '-' becomes '+'.

so, as we can see that,

→ √3 - 5 = '-' in between .

then,

→ '-' becomes '+' .

therefore,

→ the conjugate of √3 - 5 = √3 + 5 (Ans.)
