Since they are in AP....

Diffrence throughout is same....

So,

13-(2k+1) = (2k+1) - ( k+1)

13 - (2k + 1) = (2k + 1) - (k +1) \\  \\ 13 - 2k - 1 = 2k + 1 - k - 1 \\  \\ 12 - 2k = k  \\  \\ 12 = 3k \\  \\ k =  \frac{4}{1}

k= 4
