________Hi Mate
Question :-
what are the consequences of deforestation ?
_________
Answer :-
Deforestation :-
The process of clear cutting of forest or a stand of trees from a plot or piece of a land which is then used for the non- forest purposes is known as deforestation.
More than 200000 acres of rainforests are cleared every day which is a big loss.
why?? Let's see :-
Consequences of deforestation :-
- It is well known that we can not live without trees because they provide us the most prerequisite element of life that is Oxygen. But the rate at which the forests are destructed threatens the availability of this element. Thus the first and foremost consequence is the threat to human life.
- Forests are universal CO2 sinks that by absorbing a lot of carbon dioxide maintains the balance of various gases in the air. Now, cutting down of trees may lead to the increase in CO2 in atmosphere which in turn has other consequences like Global warming.
- Deforestation deeply affects the shelter of wild animals which then compulsively come down to villages and towns thereby threatening human life again.
- Loss of forest produce.
- Forest-dwellers are wholely and solely dependent on forest products like wood, shelter, clothing , food etc and cutting down of trees affects this in a very bad way.
- Loss of natural Beauty.
- welcoming of disasters like floods droughts etc.
