Environment consists of water bodies, air, greenery, Earthen soil, atmosphere, mountains, forests, the various forms of life etc.  The environment degradation happens due to pollution of water bodies, air and soil.  The degradation is due to mixing of chemicals in soil, water bodies or emission of hot and harmful greenhouse gases into air.

In our world many natural resources are being shared by neighbouring countries.  Like river Nile, Amazon, Ganga, Godavari and Brahmaputra they flow from one state into another and one country into another.  The river water is pure at location of origin.  But it is polluted when it reaches the ocean.

On our planet there are continental winds flowing from one continent to another.  There are monsoons that move thousands of miles.  The cyclones move across seas and lands.  Greenhouse gases rising to the Ozone layer make holes in the layer.  That lets in harmful UV rays.  As the Earth rotates about itself and revolves around that Sun, these holes expose different lands to the UV rays.  The clouds move hundreds of kilometers in the sky.

Various birds migrate from one park or sea or lake in nation to another every six months.  Often forests do form the boundaries of states or nations.

If any natural resource of the environment is degraded in one location, then it has potentially an affect on other states or countries too.  If one region draws excess water or gas from the underground, it could have impact on water availability in the neighbourhood, as the pressure and temperature conditions inside the crust layer change.  The high temperature in air at one location causes air from neighbouring region to flow in due to difference in density and pressure.

IN year 2014 or 15 there was a cold wave (wind) from the Himalayas.  It affected a region of at least 500 km radius.  The moral is that degradation in environment should not be done.  It affects not only that state or nation, but also other states and nations.
