Consequences of Refraction of light. Please explain in detail.

every medium has a different reflective index which cause refraction of light when a light enters from an rear medium to denser the light refracts and the ray bends towards the normal

the consequencs of refraction is
1. if a stick is immersed in water so it appear bent in surface of water because due to refraction actually the stick is not bent it appear i can see the bent image of stick
2. if a coin is dropped down the water so it appear upward but actually is downward because of refraction
actually the coin image on at the surface of water but the refraction of coin see the eye
