the two objects moving with initial velocity have masses =m1 and m2 and u1 and u2 . before collision then two objects strike with each other . then after collision the objects moving with final velocities = v1 and v2 , with masses = m1 and m2. .
According to second law of motion .
Before collision = F= ma
F=m(v-u/t)
F= mv-mu/t ( ist )
after collision = F= ma
F= m2v2-m2u2/t
from 1 and 2
m1v1-m1u1/t = -(m2v2-m2u2/t)
m1v1-m1u1=-m2v2+m2u2
m1v1+m2v2=m2u2+m1u1
hope it helps you
