Consider a block of wood floating on water . If you push down on the top of the block until it is comletely submerged,the bouyant force on it

as the buoyant force =weight of displaced liquid. so when the object is floating there will be less volume inside water so buoyant force will be less.
but when we apply force on block and make it submerged there will be more volume inside water so the buoyant force will be more.
