Consider a mass ' m ' attached to a spring of length ' l ' performing vertical circle.

Answer:

The Radius of the circle traced will be equal to the length of the string

In circular motion tension in the string is balanced by the centripetal force

hence we know that

T = mv² / r

T = mv² / L

v² = TL /m

Velocity at any point

v = √TL / m

And at the lowest point, the tension is balanced by the weight of the block

∴ tension = weight = mg

 v = √ mgL / m

  v = √gL
