consider a person on the surface of the earth such that the mass of the person is 50 kg the mass of the earth is 6×10^24 kg and the radius of the earth is 6.4×10^3 km calculate the force acting on the person due to gravitational pull of the earth

F = GMm / R²
= (6.67 × 10^-11 N m² / kg² × 6 × 10²⁴ kg × 50 kg) / (6.4 × 10⁶ m)²
= 488.52 N

Force acting on person is 488.52 N

[Note: In reality mass of earth is not exactly 6 × 10²⁴ kg and radius of earth is not exactly 6.4 × 10⁶ m. If we take correct values we will get F = 490 N by using the relation F = mg where g = 9.8 m/s²]
