Consider a simple cubic (sc) crystal in which one atom is placed at each lattice point. The lattice constant is a = 0.7\: nma=0.7nm. Calculate the volume density of atoms (i.e. number of atoms per unit volume) in unit of cm^{-3}cm
−3
. Values within 5% error will be considered correct.

HELLO DEAR,

Given a Simple Cubic Lattice ,

packing efficiency = (volume of one atom ×100)

-----------------------------------------%

( volume of a unit cell (a^2))

= 4/3 πr^3 ×100

---------------------%

(2r)^3

= 52.4% Answer.

volume density = packing efficiency

I HOPE IT'S HELP YOU DEAR,

THANKS.
