Given info : Consider a solid sphere of radius 5 cm having volume charge density of 20 C/m³

To find : the electric flux density at 10 cm from the outer surface of sphere is...

solution : charge on solid sphere, Q = ρV

= 4/3ρπr³

now electric field at 10 cm from the outer surface = electric field at 15 cm from the centre of sphere, E = kQ/R²

= 1/4πε₀ × 4/3ρπr³/R²

= r³ρ/R²ε₀

now electric flux density, D = ε₀E

= r³ρ/R²

here r = 5cm , ρ = 20 C/m³ , R = 15 cm

={ (0.05 m)³ × 20 C/m³ }/{(0.15m)²}

= (0.05 × 20)/9

= 1/9 C/m²

Therefore electric flux density at 10cm from the surface is 1/9 C/m²

Answer:

Given info: Consider a solid sphere of radius 5 cm having volume charge density of 20 C/m³

To find the electric flux density at 10 cm : from the outer surface of sphere is...

solution charge on solid sphere, Q = pV

= 4/3pπr³

now electric field at 10 cm from the outer surface electric field at 15 cm from the = centre of sphere, E = KQ/R²

= 1/4 × 4/³për³/R²

=r³p/R²Eo

now electric flux density, D = εE

= r³p/R²

here r = 5cm, p = 20 C/m³, R = 15 cm

={(0.05 m) ³ x 20 C/m³ }/{(0.15m)²}

= (0.05 × 20)/9

= 1/9 C/m²
