Answer:

Part i)

the flux of this field through a square when  its plane is parallel to the Y-Z plane is 3 N-m^2/C, and

Part ii)

the flux of this field through a square when  the normal to its plane makes a 60° angle with the X-axis is 1.5 Nm^2/C.

Explanation:

Part i)

As we know that the electric flux due to electric field is given as

\phi = E. A

\phi = EA cos\theta

here we know that plane is YZ plane and angle of its Normal with electric field is ZERO degree

so we will have

\phi = EA cos0

\phi = (3 \times 10^3)(10 \times 10^{-4})cos0

\phi = 3 N-m^2/C

Part ii)

As we know that the electric flux due to electric field is given as

\phi = E. A

\phi = EA cos\theta

here we know angle of its Normal with electric field is 60 degree

so we will have

\phi = EA cos60

\phi = (3 \times 10^3)(10 \times 10^{-4})cos60

\phi = 1.5 N-m^2/C
