Consider any rectangular material present in your house (study table, dining

table, bed etc). Note that the object considered should be a rectangle with sharp

edges. Measure its length and width in centimeters. Take a picture / draw a picture

of the considered object with prime focus on the rectangular surface. Paste / draw

the picture on homework sheet with length and width description. After marking the

dimensions on the picture (length and width), find its perimeter in centimeters. What

would be the effect on the perimeter if we increase the height of the considered

object by 3 feet?

Given : rectangular Table

To Find : perimeter in centimeters

effect on the perimeter if we increase the height of the considered object by three feet

Solution:

Dimension of top of table

1.2 m and 0.65 m

1 m = 100 cm

1.2 m = 120 m

0.65m = 65 cm

Perimeter = 2(120 + 65)

= 2(185)

= 370 cm

There is no effect on the perimeter if we increase the height of the considered object by three feet as perimeter is  dependent on dimension of top only.
