If light travels from one medium to another, ray (b) Q to R will bend towards the normal.

The refractive indices of four mediums are given in this case as follows:

P - 2.14

Q - 1.99

R - 2.98

S - 2.16

As we know, the ray of light bends towards the normal when it travels from a medium having a lower refractive index to a higher refractive index.

P (2.14) to Q (1.99) - Higher to lower- ray will bend away from normal

Q (1.99) to R (2.98)- Lower to higher - ray will bend towards normal

R (2.98) to S (2.16) - Higher to lower- ray will bend away from normal

S (2.16) to P (2.14) - Higher to lower- ray will bend away from normal
