Consider the following phenols(Refer Image) :
The decreasing order of acidity of the above phenols is
(a) III > IV > II > I
(b) II > I > IV > III
(c) I > IV > II > III
(d) III > IV > I > II

The acidity of phenols depends on the group attached to it .

If electron withdrawing group like NO_2 is present then its acidity increases while electron donating group like methyl decreases it.

Moreover , the effect is more if the group is attached at para position.
