Consider the following points: Title, author, rhyme scheme, structure and
stanza, tone of the poem, Figure of speech, Theme/central idea of the poem.
Turn, turn thy hasty foot aside, The sun, the moon, the stars He made Nor crush that helpless worm! To all His Creatures free:
The frame thy scornful looks deride And spreads o’er earth the grassy blade Requir’d a God to form. For worm as well as thee.
The common Lord of all that move, Let them enjoy their little day, From whom thy being flow’d, Their lowly bliss received; A portion of His boundless love O do not lightly take away On that poor worm bestow’d. The life thou canst not give!
