There is a balance in nature. everything should be equal or some more or less. if all the lions are removed from the above food chain herbivores will not die ( lion and other predators eat deers, other herbivores) so when deer will be more and the reproduction will be more so more grass will be eaten as herbivores like deers eat plants and grass.

so there will be a time when more deers and grass will be very few.

now as the plants and grass exchange gases, they take carbon dioxide and release oxygen so now when deer will eat more grass or plants the carbon dioxide will be more and thus oxygen will be less

so it will be very tough and soon carbon dioxide will be more. deers can't eat trees and big plants but yes carbon dioxide will be more..
