Consider the integers -5, -7 and 3.​

We have: [(-5)+(-7)]+3

=(-12))+3 = -9.

And, (-5)+[(-7)+3]

=(-5)+(-4) = -9.

∴ [(-5)+(-7)]+3=(-5)+[(-7)+3].
