Consider the reaction, 2A + B
- products, when
concentration of 'B' alone
was doubled, the rate did not
change. When the
e concentration of 'A' alone
was doubled, the rate
increased by two times. The
unit of rate constant for this
reaction is
a)S- b)L mol L-1S-1 c) Unit less. d)Mol L-1S-1

First order reaction doesn't depend upon concentration of reactants

t=0.693/k

Hence the order of B must be 1

As per the question on doubling the concentration of A the reaction also doubles

[2A]1

Hence the order of A is also 1

R=k[2A]1[B]1

Total order=2

So the answer is d)MolL-1S-1
